We’ve All Done What Rory McIlroy Did During His Open Championship Practice Round Today

Rory McIlroy found himself in a greenside bunker during his practice round at Royal Troon today. Getting out of it was a bit of a challenge, too. Check it out.

Tune to 5:29 to see the disaster.

That’s six shots just to get out for those who lost count. Just your classic +6 on a par three. I love how Rory takes it all in stride, too. Just laughing about it because hitting out of the sand for some is a laughing matter. Take me, for instance. I have a pretty good short game around the green, unless it’s in a bunker. I’m captain deceleration when it comes to bunker shots. Pretty much put me down for at least a double if I find myself on the beach.

We’ve all been there. Even one of my friends was playing at Royal Liverpool today and found one of those bunkers. It took him quite a bit to get out.

Love the links style of the courses over there, but would hate hitting out of those bunkers and their giant lips.
