Three weeks in and we believe the Vince Lombardi clip Chris Berman uses no less than three times every segment perfectly describes the college football season.

Bama is no longer the big swinging dick on the block, with Kiffin effectively making the wrong call in every situation. Brett Bielema is having himself a doozy of a September after commenting on Ohio State’s strength of schedule. Auburn benched the pre-season Heisman favorite after throwing the ball backwards for a redshirt freshman. Ohio State dodged a scare at home with an effective quarterback swap from Cardale Jones to JT Barrett, only to announce that Cardale Jones will start this week. Despite the craziness of last week, we bounced back relatively well to bring us back above even at 12-11-1. Let’s keep the positive momentum going into this weekend.

BYU @ Michigan

Line: Michigan -4.5
TSG Pick: Michigan -4.5
Summary: After two straight home blowout victories against Oregon State and UNLV, we have no choice but to take them in this home matchup against the Morms and their 2nd string quarterback. Michigan’s defense has gelled incredibly early in the season, and if the offense can follow suit sooner than later, the Wolverines may actually be a contender (or spoiler) in the Big 10.

Missouri @ Kentucky

Line: Kentucky -3
TSG Pick: Mizzou +3
Summary: Why? Why must Missouri such have such temping lines on the road forcing us to mix business and emotion? Look, when you are given points on the road against Kentucky, and a terrible looking Towles, you gotta take it. We are just praying that the Tigers can find some sort of groove on offense entering SEC play Saturday evening. Smart/Sharp money is on Mizzou, but take it for what it’s worth.

Georgia Tech @ Duke

Line: GaTech -7.5
TSG Pick: GaTech -7.5
Summary: Georgia Tech had an incredible opportunity to hand Notre Dame an upset in South Bend last week, however the Yellow Jackets fell flat on their face. We feel bad for Duke, because not only do they not have the athletes to compete with GT, they are playing a pissed off Yellow Jacket Team. Georgia Tech gets back to their ways and run this bitch up to three touchdowns.

Tennessee @ Florida

Line: Pick ‘Em
TSG Pick: Tennessee
Summary: Two weeks ago we stuck with the old rule of “take the home team in a pick ‘em” even when the visiting team was clearly more cohesive. That game two weeks ago was Oklahoma at Tennessee, and we watched the Vols (and two decent parlays) crumble under the pressure in the 4th quarter. In this SEC East battle, we are confident that Tennessee’s talent will prevail over the Gators in the swamp.

TCU @ Texas Tech

Line: TTU +6.5
TSG Pick: TCU -6.5
Summary: Texas Tech is coming off of a HUGE WIN…against an unidentifiable Arkansas Razorbacks team. TCU is still avenging their playoff snuff from last year against their first semi-competitive Big 12 opponent. Gary Patterson and the Horned Frogs will begin to open up the playbook, and scores, as they try to convince the dickheads voting that they are worthy of being one of the last four standing.

Northern Illinois @ Boston College

Line: BC -5.5
TSG Pick: NIU +5.5
Summary: Boston College hosts a very good Northern Illinois team one week after losing to the very beatable Florida State Seminoles. BC is one of the many teams rolling with their backup quarterback. If NIU plays even 75% as good as they did in Columbus last weekend, we should see another power five upset at home (see Arkansas and Vanderbilt).

Lousiana Monroe @ Alabama

Line: Bama -38
TSG Pick: Bama -38
Summary: The only reason why we are picking this five plus touchdown cover for Crimson is strictly because we believe Lane Kiffin is coaching for his job. This guy is completely inept. His coaching identity usually revolves around getting one specific player the ball any way he can (Cooper last year, Henry this year), however, he refused to call Henry’s number in their home upset against Ole Miss last week. Maybe he was challenged to actually call a balanced game? Maybe Henry shacked with his (alleged) on-campus girlfriend? Maybe, and most likely, he just sucks at his job and had no answers for the Landsharks when they came to Tuscaloosa. Win by six scores, or start looking in the classifieds, Lane.

Texas A&M @ Arkansas

Line: Arkansas +7
TSG Pick: TAM -7
Summary: Arkansas has slept in for the first three games of the 2015 season. Nothing seems to be working for a coach whose scheme seemed to mesh so flawlessly in the conference. We aren’t really sure what’s going wrong for the Razorbacks, but if the transition from week two to three shows us anything, they are completely unable to change their issues. Texas A&M has already proved solid in a big game earlier this season while Arky is just scrambling to find moral victories.

Vanderbilt @ Ole Miss

Line: Ole Miss -24.5
TSG Pick: Ole Miss -24.5
Summary: Vandy has proven that they aren’t as shitty as last year. They lost against Western Kentucky and Georgia at home, but covered both games. We aren’t convinced, however, that the Commodores are ready to take their ATS game on the road — especially against Ole Miss. The Rebels are the hottest team in the nation right now, and they have managed to keep two things very consistent: scoring a lot of points and playing tenacious defense. All eyes are on Oxford this weekend to see how this team responds. Can the Rebels keep the passion alive? We think so. A double digit cover at home wouldn’t surprise us in the least.

Mississippi State @ Auburn

Line: Auburn -2
TSG Pick: Miss State +2
Summary: We aren’t going to ask any questions…we are just pulling the trigger on this one. The balls on Gus to start a freshman quarterback come SEC play will prove to be profitable or unpractical very quickly. To be honest, we expect to see Johnson back on the field in the second half, fighting an uphill battle against a Mississippi State team that can score and protect a lead.
