Following the untimely death of 19-year-old member Anton Gridnev due to an apparent drug overdose last weekend and the arrest of four of his fellow brothers on drug possession charges, Sigma Nu nationals has suspended its Texas A&M chapter of all activities while authorities investigate the tragedy.

College Station police found Gridnev, who had just moved into the Sigma Nu house, unresponsive early Saturday before paramedics rushed him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Two members were popped with weed, one with hash oil, and another with LSD and MDMA. Nationals has suspended the membership of all four.

From Dallas News:

“Anton’s family and friends remain in our thoughts and prayers as we continue to grieve his death,” said Brad Beacham, Sigma Nu’s executive director.

“We are deeply troubled by information released by the College Station police department and remain prepared to assist, however possible, with the investigation by local authorities,” he said in the statement.

Our thoughts go out to the Gridnev family.
