We received a tip from an SAE who wanted to share the inspirational words of his fellow fraternity brother for guys in the house who were down on their luck with the ladies. Apparently, members are simply not putting themselves out there enough and girls at school have no idea who they are. Just zero campus presence. The first step to playing the game is checking yourselves in, players.
Thankfully, their social chair took notice and sent out a motivational email rallying the troops before winter break, and they’re undoubtedly taking the university by storm in the spring.
Our tipster did request to keep his chapter and identity anonymous, so I’m going to respect his wishes and let you choose the SAE charter of your liking. Let’s delve into it.
Whats up boys, hope you’re all doing well with finals. Since we are not having chapter before break I just wanted to say some words of wisdom that will help u out socially in the future.
That’s real big of you, man.
1. Go on campus
If you want be considered “relevant” to guys and girls start going on campus. Whether its studying in the library, working out in the wellness center, going to play pong at the frat house, or just eating on campus. The more often you see people in new/separate locations the more comfortable they will naturally feel with you. This will make girls who come to our parties feel comfortable there instead of having them say they don’t know any of the guys. Also, it will help our brotherhood remain strong and help us not be as clicky.
Not a bad place to start. Maybe go to the school you attend, guys. Hell, just come to the fraternity house and get to know your brothers. Then, whenever you get hungry, you have friends to get food with. Perhaps on campus? Lot of food options at the union. Great place to be seen, too. Are you getting comfortable with each other yet? The more natural our brotherhood comes across, the more other people will acknowledge our existence.
2. Do you’re niche
I always hear guys and my self included say talk to girls, text girls, ect. Lets face it, girls aren’t everyones strong suit. If you try doing something that is not your strong suit than you will not seem as if you are being congruent to your personality which will make you seem fake. If girls aren’t your strong suit do what ever it is you do best. Whether its shotgunning a beer quickly, working out a lot, or taking pictues. The more diversity we have as whole the more interesting we will be to rushes and sororities as a whole anyways. We all got bids here for specific reasons not because we all get with girls.
“Baby, you are so money and you don’t even know it.” Just do you. Don’t sweat it. If you can’t talk to women, just show them how much of a bad motherfucker you are shotgunning a natty in three seconds or popping some curls at the wellness center. If you’re more of sensitive guy, take some artsy photos with your DSLR. They’ll be super impressed by the asymmetry and your vast knowledge of the theory of thirds. Play to your strengths. Ladies love the eccentric types.
3. Don’t give a fuck (most important)
At the end of the day be a true gentlemen but at the same time if you’re thinking about doing something just fucking do it. Don’t let anything hold you back. Whether it is talking to a girl, making a joke to the guys, or even just getting a hair cut/ wearing something new. Be confident with what you want to do and be who you want to be. Don’t be the guy that is scared to try new things. Would you rather be the guy who is scared to talk to girls and didn’t get laid or the guy that got rejected 3x but still brought one back at the end of the day? We aren’t charity cases so don’t act like one. We are only in college once, so if theres something you want to do, whether it’s X,Y,or Z…just do it. We are so grateful to go to such an amazing school that presents so much opportunity. Make the most of it, be the fucking man and do what you want to do.
I think our biggest problem as a fraternity socially is we care way to much about girls. Put your lives together, do those three things, focus on being the best person you can be and girls will take note and fall into place.
I wanted to also thank you all for giving me this opportunity. I had a great time being social chair. You guys were the ones that made it great I just set it up. Continue to be RRRR for Stone and lets be the best we can be.
With that said, don’t be yourself. Be better. Get a fresh cut, get some new threads, and maybe make a joke for once. Even if it’s with one of us. We’re all brothers here, right? We are…right? Either way, just put yourself into the game. So you get rejected? At least you’re not awkwardly standing in the corner looking like you’re going to shoot up the place anymore. So you got that going for you. That’s progress, guys. Rome wasn’t built in a day.
But clearly our biggest problem is worrying about girls. Wait. Did I just write 500+ words on our relationship with girls? Uh…be the best you can be guys..
