The Miami Hurricanes should’ve never beat the Duke Blue Devils on Oct. 31. The NCAA knows it, the ACC knows it, Duke knows it, and Miami knows it. Miami doesn’t give a shit though.
A series of officiating errors led to the Hurricanes last-second, miracle kickoff return for a touchdown that fateful Saturday. The ACC later suspended the officials in charge of the game due to their awfulness, but the win for Miami remains intact.
On Thursday, the Hurricanes released an epic hype video from the game. It’s a tearjerker, talking about how hard work, dedication, and a never-give-up attitude led to the win. Ya know, the win that shouldn’t have happened.
I’m not sure if it’s a lack of selective editing or just the realization that people wouldn’t care, but the university-released video went with the clearest shot of the questionable knee-down no call (6:44) and a nice shot of the block in the back no call (6:57). It’s like they’re telling the world “Hey, we know we won off a bullshit call, but guess what? Suck our dicks.” They’re just rubbing it in.
Miami has blatantly ignored the fact the touchdown should’ve been called back, mainly because the Hurricanes still officially have a win in that column.
They’ve also decided to sell t-shirts to commemorate the night:

We’ve reached out to the university for comment. Here’s their response:
