The Indiana University chapter of Sigma Alpha Mu is set to host its Second Annual Ball At the Hall charity 3v3 basketball tournament. The tournament will go down on February 24 at Assembly Hall, the same court the Hoosiers play on. Proceeds will go towards the Lauri S. Bauer Foundation for Sudden Loss.
It’s a big, loud, fun event that the brotherhood has put countless hours into organizing, and it’s a great way bring the IU community together in a meaningful way. It’s also an event that has a deep personal meaning to the chapter.
The Lauri S. Bauer Foundation was started by Scott Bauer — father of Alex and Jake Bauer who are brothers of Sigma Alpha Mu. Alex and Jake lost their mother on January 5, 2011 to a sudden arrhythmia. The foundation has helped kids across the world who have suffered similar tragedies. Whether it be helping pay for college, put food on the table, or put some clothes on the back of children, the Lauri S. Bauer Foundation helps save and improve thousands of lives.
The brothers encourage anyone who has suffered a sudden loss to join them in Assembly Hall for a day that is about supporting one another far more than it is about playing basketball.

Once the tournament has been narrowed down to two teams, the remaining six players will compete to win free tuition. There will also be a half court shootout, the winner of which will receive a Fiat 500X.
