Houston Rockets Fire Hilarious Social Media Manager For Tweeting Out Horse Euthanasia Joke

======= ======= ====== ====== ====== ===== ==== ====== ====== ===== ==== ======= ======= ====== ====== ====== ===== ==== ====== ====== ===== ====

Most professional sports franchises run absolutely terrible Twitter game. They clutter your timeline with the most painfully unfunny and downright cringeworthy jokes known to man.

Enter Chad Shanks, a promising young upstart looking to revolutionize the sports Twittersphere via the @HoustonRockets account. Where most play it safe and pick fruit hanging so low it’s touching the ground, our boy Shanks spiced things up on a daily basis and pushed the envelope with the kind of revolutionary ambition that makes America great. Well, apparently he finally pushed that envelope too far, according to today’s oversensitive comedic standards.

Shanks was a beacon of light in this otherwise dark and mundane world, and it ultimately led to his demise.

The Houston Rockets fired Chad over this tweet Wednesday afternoon, and, in our office, we’ve been debating the joke that got him canned ever since. Some guys are saying this is a well-known online rape joke, while myself and renowned Rockets fan, Ross Bolen, just see it as a simple, hilarious horse euthanasia joke. Regardless of Chad’s actual intent, it offended enough people to get the poor bastard terminated.

I’m really not liking the direction the internet is going. You could just fire out a smiley face emoji on Twitter nowadays and a few miserable assholes will take offense to it and complain.

It’s alright, Chad. You’re too good to limit yourself to one sport, let alone one team.

Though I have absolutely no authority to do so, I’d like to offer you employment here at Grandex. We’ll let you spread your wings and fly. We won’t fire you for saying something controversial; you’ll be commended.

Ball’s in your court, buddy.
