Hannibal Buress is one of the funniest comedians in the game. The dude is straight up hilarious. Every now and then, though, he gets pretty serious. During the production of a promo for his new show “Why?” Buress got a little upset. He’d instructed members of the crew to wear Hawaiian shirts — a noble task. However, only one crew member was wearing one. As you’d expect, he was pissed.

Was this a planned out gag? Almost certainly. But Buress brings up a good point. Why aren’t more people wearing Hawaiian shirts? Just about a year ago, I kicked off the biggest social movement of the century, the #YesAllMenWhoWearHawaiianShirts campaign. We’ve made some serious strides. We’ve broken down barriers, overcome obstacles, and, most importantly, kicked back and relaxed in some fine floral-print fabric. We’ve changed minds, cured diseases (probably), and wooed countless women with the tropical allure of our fine shirts. There’s still work to be done, though, as Hannibal points out. We need to spread the word. We need to keep the movement strong.

It’s summer, guys. You need to loosen up. Relax. Chill. Have a drink, smoke a cigar, and throw on your finest Hawaiian. Don’t just do it for yourself. Do it for America.

Thanks for spreading the word, Hannibal.
