Now that we’re about a week removed from the first debate, the GOP presidential candidates are finally starting to carve out definitive roles for themselves. From the looks of it, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul is going to be Donald Trump’s punching bag as the billionaire businessman throws a lot of verbal haymakers.
Trump decided most recently to torch Paul’s golf skills in a statement to The Washington Post:
“Recently, Rand Paul called me and asked me to play golf. I easily beat him on the golf course and will even more easily beat him now, in the world in the politics. Senator Paul does not mention that after trouncing him in golf I made a significant donation to the eye center with which he is affiliated.”
Trump had Ryan beat and then just ran up the score with that “significant donation” line. He then continued to publicly dismantle Paul in the statement, calling his campaign a “total mess.”
Trump’s full statement was in response to a recent attack ad Paul rolled out on YouTube.
But, let’s be honest, Trump didn’t need that to verbally assault Paul again. He’s been holding it in for a whole week. Remember this from the debate?
Trump is living proof that if you mess with the bull, you’re gonna get the horns..
