Brooklyn College Just Lost Their Coke Dealer And Janitor, Let's Have A Moment Of Silence

I’ve always had a small fascination with the culture of smaller schools. Coming from a university that’s home to tens of thousands of students, there are multiples of everything and everyone. Excluding a select few people, everything is disposable, and I’m completely okay with that.

When we start dealing with the daily operations of small schools, everyone has his or her place. It’s their niche. Some people are the student government all-stars. Others are the sketchy shadow dwellers that ensure the area’s nightlife remains as good as ever. It all works out until someone falls out of place, such as what happened to Brooklyn College part-time janitor and full-time coke dealer Javon High.

Javon’s job title may have been CUNY Custodial Assistant, but he gave so much more to the school than his title hints. The man was responsible for restoring the flow after your 2 a.m. Applebee’s log dump while simultaneously ensuring that every party in the vicinity of Brooklyn College was sufficiently supplied with enough nose candy to give Narcos a second season. He did a lot for the people of Brooklyn, that is until the no-good NYPD caught up with him.

From Patch:

Police say they nabbed 46-year-old janitor Javon High after he sold baggies of cocaine to undercover officers nine times between April and mid-July.

The trick sales added up to around $1,400.

“High conducted narcotics transactions during his work shifts and, in at least one instance, he wore his work uniform,” says a press release on High’s indictment. ”The investigation revealed that High catered to customers from neighborhoods surrounding Brooklyn College.”

Now, all indications here prove he was nothing more than a dependable guy just trying to earn a little extra cash to enhance the college experience. Let the students have some fun. They deserve a reprieve.
