Lately, we’ve been seeing increasing numbers of NFL players that retire from the league well before they pass their prime, often citing health concerns as the reason they walk away. Chris Borland, Anthony Davis, Ricardo Lockette, and many other players are hanging up the cleats well before age 30, but what we have today is a little different.
Former Kansas State cornerback Morgan Burns didn’t have his name called in the 2016 NFL Draft, but was able to sign with the Tennessee Titans. Not even a week later, he’s decided to call it quits, officially announcing his “retirement.”
From ProFootballTalk:
Morgan Burns will be retiring from the NFL today to pursue a career in ministry,” agent Brandon Smart told Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com. “He appreciates the opportunity the Titans gave him.”
This situation doesn’t exactly scream “retirement.” This is kind of like if a broke college student went in to test drive a Ferrari before saying “Nah, it’s just not for me.” You’re not fooling anyone. I can’t give him too much heat, though. The guy had the chance to play in the NFL, but opted instead to pursue something different. I don’t have options like that. I just don’t. So the whole retirement connotation is a bit douchey, but that can be forgiven. More power to you, Burns..

Fuck your uncle and fuck you, pencil dick.
Kind of how intern Shabba “retired” from her weekly Q & A segment.
The organization is currently transitioning her in an attempt to bring in younger, more productive talent.
Just like how Steve Holt “retired”, yet still ends up back on TFM every once in a while like the chronic case of herpes that he is.
Going into the ministry isn’t douchey. If he’s been called, then more Power to him.
And a lifetime banging fat choir directors in the narthex beats five years on the practice squad.
i just like saying “Narthex.”
Announcing your retirement after a non-existent career. TFM.
This is a tfm
